For those who have read Dirty Beautiful, you might remember a mention of Erica’s brownies.  Amateur baker and lover of chocolate, she used this to break the ice between her and Dylan.

Wonder what these chocolate wonders are? Well here is the recipe:

 

 

 

 Brownies

aka Death By Chocolate

  • 240gram butter/ 8 ounces
  • 260 grams/ 9.2 ounces of Dark chocolate/70% Dark Choc (divide this to suit your taste) I personally like the sweet with a slightly bitter after taste.
  • White chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (if butter is unsalted)
  • 1 cup caster/superfine sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup plain flour/all-purpose flour

Icing

  • 1/2cup unsalted butter
  • 280grams/1ounce Cooking chocolate
  1. Preheat oven to 180 c (or 170c Fan-forced)/ 350F
  2. Heat saucepan of water. Then simmer
  3. Put room temp (240g/8oz)butter and cut up choc pieces(240g/8oz) in heatproof bowl. Place over saucepan, stir until all melted then set aside.
  4. In mixing bowl, put in 4 eggs, 1cup of brown and 1cup white sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth light brown colour with bubbles.
  5. Add in melted chocolate. Beat until smooth.
  6. Slowly add in the 1 cup of flour
  7. Once smooth, fold in a handful (as desired) of white chocolate buttons.
  8. In pan of a decent size (mine is 22.5cm by 31cm) grease it. Then pour in mixture
  9. Put into oven for 40-45min until testing toothpick comes away clean.
  10. Allow to cool. 
  11. Time to make the Icing
  12. Inthe heat proof bowl add 1/2cup butter and 280grams/1ounce of chocolate. Stir until melted over a saucepan of heated water.
  13. Lather onto cooled brownies.
  14. Cover in plasticwrap and put in fridge for a couple of hours. 
  15. Ready to eat!
Icing and chocolate chips are optional. But this is a treat you can serve alone, with ice cream or hot fudge. It’s all up to your imagination.

What do you get when you throw a Texan and an Aussie in a room?  A whole lot of fun.

Yes, two authors, two stories in one big bash to bring in the new year. We’re blog hopping all this month featuring Sidney Bristol’s Flirting with Rescue and my own Dirty Beautiful.  Both are steamy contemporary romance presented by the Moderne line of Ellora’s Cave.

FLIRTING WITH RESCUE:

Veterinarian Cody-Lynn Parker has always had a soft spot for horses. Rodeo and racing are part of her bloodlines. When an equine emergency brings her into the city to retrieve two abused thoroughbreds, it’s not all she ends up rescuing.

From the moment Scott meets Cody sparks fly. Working side by side they don’t waste any downtime getting to know each other. Not that Cody minds having a sexy Cuban’s magic hands on her. What starts out as a steamy fling turns into an affair of the heart, where everyone is tied in knots. Cody’s southern drawl does things to Scott that can’t be undone. But first he has to keep her safe from the dangerous men who want their property back, and that’s a tall order with a woman as alluring and independent as Cody.

DIRTY BEAUTIFUL:

Disillusioned by love, Erica has tasted the bitter pill of betrayal and wonders if she’s enough for one man. When a hot guy moves in next door, Erica decides to settle for good old-fashioned lust. What starts out as a simple seduction quickly evolves, and Erica is fast finding out Dylan is dangerous not only to her libido, but her heart as well.

Recently retired from the adult-film industry, Dylan hopes for a fresh start in Templeton where his porn persona, Drake Van Wulf, is unknown. His new neighbor is unlike the women he’s accustomed to, but she stirs his blood nonetheless. His rule not to get involved is quickly tested by Erica and her lush curves. Unable to withstand her allure, Dylan finds himself wanting more from Erica than just her body. He wants her heart also.

With the secret of his past hanging in the shadows, Dylan’s about to find out if love truly conquers all.

I am talking about my new USB internet stick. Yesterday morning, my internet went down along with my phone line, much to my dismay. I couldn’t access my email, no biggie I thought, I could just get the hubs to check.  But then the horrors of all horror hit me. I can’t access twitter! O.M.G. I used to think, twitter was a bit lame. I mean, I can’t say anything interesting on Facebook, so why would I need twitter? Well that’s the beauty of it all. I can say silly and irrelevant things and that’s okay! I can have a conversation with a random stranger, and not in a creepy way! (I’m having a love affair with exclamation points atm.)

So, point being. I can’t do without my socials. I am a slave to its whim and I don’t care. *huggles USB stick close* You were so worth the money… I don’t care that my husband is rolling his eyes at me.  He doesn’t understand our connection.
